Loves First Kiss

Hope all of you ladies are having a peaceful Sunday today.. I spent some time yesterday working on a little something for the Sketch Along Tuesdays Challenge over at Frosted Designs.. What a bunch of talented ladies over there..
Fern Riley has created this original sketch and when I seen it, I knew I had to play.. This sketch is fantastic cause it leaves room for you to be able to create and make it your own.. Two thumbs up for Fern!!
Here is my take on the sketch:
I didn't haven't two photos, so I added a tag.. and then played around with some of the papers and thats how I got the layered look behind the photo mat..  I just have such a hard time leaving white space on my layouts..LOL

and here is the sketch:

and then for some close ups:

The title I cut using my "Opposites Attract" cartridge..
and background marquee is cut from "Songbird" cartridge..

Here is a close up of the tag.. Love that quote!!
and of course my daughter and her boyfriend Jooa..

So, I'm so addicted clustering flowers.. I should of been a florist..LOL
They are so much fun to play with!!

Alrighty then ladies.. Thats it for me for today.. But, be on the look out for some great pages I have been working on for Floren over at Generations Crafting, I should be getting those posted early next week..
I hope everyone has a great and creative week..

Baby Boy Mini Album (6x6-chipboard)

I have been invited to a baby shower and its tomorrow, Sunday Feb 27th.. I actually started on this mini a few weeks ago, but had some events in my life the last few weeks that has kept me from finishing it till now.. I've worked on it for the last few days to get it finished..
All of the chipboard used on this mini are cut from old cereal boxes that I've told my boys they are not allowed to EVER throw away...LOL   What a wonderful way to save money!!
All of the dye cuts are cut with the Cricut Expression and using the New Arrival cartridge.. I made some of my own chipboard letters also using my cricut.. I have a tutorial on that on our challenge blog Stuck On U Sketches.. If you are interested on how to make these yourself, do stop by there and take a look..

So lets get to the good stuff shall we...LOL
Here is the front cover..
I made a hand made hanging charm.. Found some cute tutorials on utube on how to make those.. super easy and not expensive at all..  I also added a little silver baby booty charm and a key onto a Tim Holtz swivel clasp.. Ribbons and fibers!!
When opening the first page, I made some photo mats for the ultrasound photos.. I found some cute quotes and title ideas at SB.com.. I also decided to add a pocket page for extra photos..

Once you flip that pocket page out of the way,  I have added a triple fold photo mat.. there is enough space there to add 5 big photos..

Then for the mom and me page.. I wanted her to be able to add a few photos of her pregnancy and the baby shower..  I added two circle chipboard pages for journaling or small photos..

and for one of the first actual baby photo pages, I added a small train and the title "New Arrival!".. there are two pull out tags that she can add the baby's weight, height, date of birth and time.. Plus, she can add two small photos onto the backs of the tags.. The font is cut from the "Opposites Attract" cartridge..

I love this page.. I though the little plane dye cut was adorable and new I wanted to incorporate it into this mini.. The title pretty much says it all..LOL
The font is cut from the "Opposites Attract " cartidge..
I made a big pocket page on the left side and then cut a onesy out of chipboard and added a small pocket to that along with a photo mat.. The title "Mother" is cut using the Storybook cartridge and I cut that out of chipboard..

and finally when you flip the onesy, you get a single photo on the back of the onesy and then to the last page.. I made a pocket and added two chipboard photo mats and one big photo mat tucking behind it a folded cake doily and a small GROW bingo card.. I also added a small photo mat to the front of the pocket, she can either journal or add a photo if she wanted to..

The papes I used for this are from DCWV Linen Closet stack.. I wanted to use soft earth tones and wanted to step away from the regular light blues and greens, etc...
Im so super happy how this mini turned out and I hope she will like it as much as I do..
I want to thank you lovely ladies so much for stopping by and taking a look..
Hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend..

SOUS reveal Feb 18th, 2011

HI ladies..
well, I wasn't able to join the girls over at SOUS this week because I had received some drastic news last Friday night.. My dad had passed away peacefully in his sleep after suffering a massive stroke.  The doctors said that their wasnt' any hope for him to recover, it was that severe.. He was only 67 years old and loved by so many..
I am slowly coming to terms with what has happened and it will take me some time to be able to concentrate on the fun things in my life, like scrapbooking and creating mini albums..
But, that shouldn't stop you from stopping by SOUS this week and getting to know our new DT members and seeing what amazing creations all of our lovely ladies have created for you..
I certainly hope to be posting layouts soon..

Brothers-SOUS reveal

Is it February already?..Wow!! But, that means spring is just right around the corner..Woo hoo!! I've about had it with this winter and all the snow that just won't stop coming down... LOL
But, on a positive note, SOUS is having its first reveal for February.. Yea!  Leah picked out this months sketches and I loved the first one.. Here it is:
and here is my take on the sketch:
The are my boys(Aaron on the left and Adam on the right).. These photos were taken a few years ago while we were visiting family and friends in Dubuque, Iowa.. the boys were goofing around by this big gated wall .. My dd took these photos.. The other photo, my boys are standing behind their great uncles hot rod..
and for a few close ups:

The Journaling starts the title, It reads " It takes two boys to make one" and then arrows down to BROTHER..
The journaling I again used some computer generated journaling when I cut apart, stuck to colored paper and then added some matte accents on the top..

The title Brother was cut using my SCAL software and the font is called "cheddar salad!"<-- how fun..LOL I then added some matte accents to it as well..

All the stars are hand cut from the papers by My Minds Eye..

I'm trying to be verstile when it comes to making layouts,  its really difficult for me when it comes to masculine layouts.. I really love the way this came out and I hope you do too..LOL

for supplies used:

Papers by :
My Minds Eye "Complete Boy" stack (one of the best buys I've ever made)

cardstock: red, light blue and dark blue

Black ink pen for faux stitching
computer generated journaling

Cricut Cartridges:
Songbird: big marquee
George and Basic Shapes: big Oval and triangle

SCAL software for Title "Brother" (font: Cheddar Salad)

Okeleh, Dokeleh.. Thats it for me for today..  Go check out the Design Team's work on SOUS's blog.. by Clicking HERE..  They have certainly outdone themselves this week :)
Thank you all so much for stopping by and taking a look..
Hope you all have a great and creative weekend..
