I'm mad about you- CE daily

Hi fellow crafters...
Because I absolutely love Halloween, I wanted to share a fun Halloween themed layout I created as my design team project for Creative embellishments, *using some photos of my son Aaron (age 24) and of course using some of the fabulous "horrifying"  chipboard elements from the Creative Embellishments store.. Here is the layout I created:
I started off with just a plain piece of white cardstock and added some brick to the background using a stencil and distress ink.
I pained my chipboard elements with acrylic paint which I mixed myself to get the colors I wanted, lime green and a dark orange.  The black chipboard pieces I inked with Archival ink in black.. adding some white paint dots for detail..
for the bubbles/foamy pieces, I used the bubbles chipboard pieces, I actually layered some and gave my bubble/foam a set of eyes. LOL
The title to my layout I created myself using my silhouette cameo and cardstock colors to match my layout..
for the potion bottles, I painted them with acrylic paint and then added paint splatters to match my theme.. attached them to my layout using foam tape..
I love the book chippies.. I wanted to create like a stack of books for spells and potions etc to go with my theme.. I also loved gears, so of course those needed to be added to my layout. The Gears background panel is great for a cluster of gears, which is what I used..
I tucked the bubble pieces under my photos and finally added lots of paint splatter to may layout in various colors to match my theme..
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my layout.. Till next time

Autumn Day- CE daily

Hi fellow scrappers..
I'm here to share a fun autumn themed layout I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using a photo of my senior pup.. He is turning 13 but has the energy and creativity for mischief as a 2 yr old..LOL   I used lots of beautiful chipboard elements to help create my autumn scene..
Here is what I created:
I used Autumn Day papers from the Photo Play 6x6 paper pad..
Using smaller paper pads are awesome when you can cut them up to create your background, less waste..
How about some close ups and details on how I created my layout:
I added the flourish to my layout, highlighting them with lots of different colored flowers.. I wanted to stick with autumn colors.. creams, brown, greens and oranges.. Those are definitely some of my all time favorite color combinations..  I also wanted to add that "little" detail and decided to used some large art stones by Prima..
I also used a few pumpkins, tucking them behind some of the flowers I had added.. I colored those using some of Lindy's Magical pigment powders and a water brush, it made putting the color on my chipboard so easy and I did not use any gesso this time..
I adore the flairs in the Creative embellishments shop.. I decided to add a few of the Happy Tails flairs to my layout.. and by the way, the only thing you need to "beware" of with this dog, is the fact that he will lick you to death..LOL
For some of the leaves, I added a few autumn leaves and decided to keep them raw chipboard and not add any color to them. I absolutely love how they look with the fall colors..
and there you have my autumn themed layout..
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my daily for today.. Till next time..

Travel Journal for CE daily

Hi ladies and gents :)
I'm here to share a little travel journal I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments. Its to Journal and add photos from our trip to Sweden a few weeks back..  I like to recycle packaging from items I've bought instead of throwing them away.. I mean free cardboard is free cardboard :)..

So, for my journal which measures about 4x6, I used recycled cardboard, a few envelopes, some sewing pattern paper, sheets of advertisements,  brown lunch bags and the papers are by Prima.. using a 6x6 paper stack for small projects is awesome.. I also used some washi tape and lots of stamps..
Here is what I created:
I used two of the large film strip photo frames on the cover and I also did some fussy cutting..
I loved the hot air balloons on the paper and wanted those on my cover :) ...
I covered my cardboard using Prima's Cartographer paper pad then colored my chipboard elements using Archival ink pad in black. it was super easy to rub the ink onto the chipboard, which I the rubbed some gold Inka-Gold paint on the surface to age the chipboard..
I'm totally in love with this nautical compass. looks great on the cover of a travel journal :)
I added lots of pages to my journal, along with some pockets and envelopes ( to hold receipts, tickets, boarding passes etc)
Because this is such a small book, I can't add too much bulk on the inside.. I actually had to tear out some of the pages, cause they would not fit..LOL  for detail, I used the distressed script stamp on the background of my paper bags, love how it ended up looking.. Then I added a lot of washi tape, around pages to support the edges and then used some thinner washi to hold down my photos, which I attached to black cardstock and then journaled on with a white gel pen..
I still have lots of photos to add to my journal along with lots of text.. I printed these photos myself on my home printer, but I think I'd prefer to have professional photos instead :)
and there you have my little travel journal.. It was so much fun to create and I hope I have inspired you to create one of your own.. all you need are some small sheets of thick cardboard, papers of your choice and of course awesome chippies from the Creative Embellishments store :)..

Thank you for stopping by today and checking out my journal..

Till next time.. Hugs

Always fun together-CE daily

Hi fellow crafters..
I'm here to share a layout of my mom that I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments..
We used to love cooking and baking together.. This is definitely a very fond memory for sure..
I decided to used some of my favorite Bo Bunny papers (Kiss The Cook-collection) and of course some of the fun chippies and stamps from Creative Embellishments store..
Here is what I created:
How about a few close ups and some details of my layout:

I wanted to go a little whimsy with this layout, so I decided not to add any flowers, but focus on the chipboard elements and fun papers instead.  I heat embossed all of the chipboard elements using black embossing powder..  For the detail on the spoon, I glued down some red microbeads to the handle .
I used several word sets to create my title..
and who doesn't love a flourish or two..LOL
These flourishes are great and are so much fun to look at on your layouts or cards etc.
Thank you for stopping by today to check out my whimsy layout..
Till next time..

Beautiful-photo frame-CE daily

Hi fellow crafters.. I'm here to share a photo frame I altered as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using a black photo frame, chipboard elements and some flowers..
Here is my photo frame:
she is my beautiful sister in law who passed away a year ago from cancer..
She was only 46 years old and has 3 beautiful children..
I wanted to incorporate things she loved to my picture frame and dragon flies were one of her all time favorites..
and of course the title phrase "Beautiful" is a perfect touch to my frame..
I also added some flowers and a few butterflies, along with a metal key, because she collected keys of all shapes and sizes..

That is my design team project for today..
Thank you for stopping by today and taking a look at my project..
till next time..
Here are the chipboard elements I used to decorate my frame:
